Rape in India, A common Thing ?

India in one way can be considered Rape capital of the World recent rape crimes aganist kids aged less than 6 years even baby girls are not spared being raped in India..even the shamless ministers in this country tell rape cannot be stopped its an accident wow really wow. Union minister Santosh Gangwar stepped into controversy , telling the media that while rapes of children were unfortunate, they could not be stopped sometimes and one should not blow it out of proportion."In such a huge country, if one or few such rape cases are reported, one should not make a big deal out of it, and move on.

Multiple cases of rape in Jammu's Kathua and Uttar Pradesh's Unnao have provoked the biggest displays of public anger since the 2012 gang rape and murder of a young woman in the national capital.

To curb this menance President of India signed an ordinance to pave way for providing stringent punishment, including death penalty, for those convicted of raping girls below the age of 12 years.stipulates stringent punishment for perpetrators of rape, particularly of girls below 16 and 12 years. Death sentence has been provided for rapists of girls under 12 years   In case of rape of a girl under 16 years, the minimum punishment has been increased from 10 years to 20 years, extendable to imprisonment for rest of life, which means jail term till the convict's "natural life". measure also provides for speedy investigation and trial. The time limit for investigation of all cases of rape has been prescribed, which has to be mandatorily completed within two months. Hope this works in a country calling itself fastest developing nation in the world .
